Satellite Imagery Available for LEAPE Educators

The LEAPE Program has purchased 10-meter colorized satellite imagery for all of New York State on CD-ROM from the DeLorme Map Company.  The license agreement has allowed us the freedom to create a limited number of “imagery clips” useful to LEAPE educators for educational programs. These clips coincide with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation regional boundaries.  Single clips of regions are being made available on a CD for $8.00 (includes shipping and handling). Regions are defined by counties as follows:

Region 1     Suffolk, Nassau

Region 2     Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island

Region 3     Sullivan, Ulster, Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester

Region 4     Montgomery, Otsego, Delaware, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Greene, Rensselaer, Columbia

Region 5     Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, Warren, Fulton, Saratoga, Washington

Region 6     Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Lewis, Oneida, Herkimer

Region 7     Oswego, Cayuga, Onondaga, Madison, Tompkins, Cortland, Chenango, Tioga, Broome

Region 8     Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung

Region 9     Niagara, Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany

Orders for imagery clips can be placed by completing the attached order form; remit to the LEAPE Program Office with a check made out to Cornell University.
